![]() I assume if I install a different MacOS/OSX version and access to the Mac App Store I can download other versions as well. So to answer my own question below: yes, you can buy Logic today and still download and older version prior to that, if you have a Mac running an older OS version. I then logged into the Mac App Store from my other Mac (running MacOS 10.13.6 High Sierra) and was able to download an older version (10.4.8) of Logic by following the instructions given in this thread. I purchased the current version of Logic Pro X a couple of days ago (using 10.15.7 Catalina). UPDATE: never mind the questions below as I can confirm that it works. My situation is that I don't yet have Logic, but want to buy it and use it with High Sierra (10.13) although the Mac App Store says the minimum requirements are Catalina (10.15.7) or later. ![]() I'm glad I found this thread but a little confused with the different results. Make sure to try calling their phone support about this. I guess they won’t take it seriously until enough people complain. Hopefully it’s just a glitch that they haven’t acknowledged yet but I’ve heard at least one person tried to call apple support and got some kind of lame answer about it. ![]() But personally I think if they are intentionally blocking someone from downloading a version of logicpro that works on an older Mac that doesn’t support Catalina, after you paid for it they are breaking the law and deserve to be sued. So moral of the story is that apple is starting to get more big brothers-ish about trying to induce or force everyone to be in the latest version of OS X. It was possible to turn off that red badge before Big Sur, it now it’s not. So i removed the system prefs from the dock so that I don’t have to look at it but now it will not be obvious if and when I need to update Catalina or other apps, etc. This used to work but either apple has decided to block the possibility of updating to older versions or else there is a hitch in the App Store that they still haven’t acknowledged yet it started happening when bug sur was released and there are other annoyances too like I have to look at a little red badge on my system prefs icon telling me Big Sur is available even though I plan to stay on Catalina for a while.
